Champagne wishes and Ketamine dreams. Waiting for the sun and waking up in the gutter. Shooting for the stars, falling short, and just shooting up. For a long while I knew everything was going to be tip top, everything was going to turn out milhouse, and I kept my eyes open for the chance that was coming to take me away from all the negativity of the previous few years of rough luck that I've had in my teenage years through present day. I kept one slot open in my wallet for the membership card that I was going to be granted, and an empty plaque on my wall to mount that key to the city that I knew I'd recieve any day now. And then one day, it didn't get any better. They nominated someone else for the award, someone else got the promotion, they picked another guy's number in the goddamned lottery and I never prepared to do anything but ready myself for the win. On the fritz was every idea I had of what to do with the good times, the resources, and the stability of the whole plan. I'd wished for the stars and awaken in an empire of dirt. Musically, financially, and spiritually. This mix is about coming to terms with things that you never anticipated, which I've been doing over the year, and moving forward. A new life later, a new style of breakbeat, and a new outlook. Funkier, sometimes more melancholy, and thus different from previous offerings. It's an audible transition from Glam to a half gram. You dig? Sometimes things don't always work out no matter how much you work toward them, try to bend the universe with positive thinking, or throw a flaming glass bottle full of gasoline at them, and when they don't, it's where you go from there that sculpts your life....A raw one take mix with plenty of slips and loose mixes, I hope this mix will ease your journey toward those expensive videos full of neon lights and wind tunnels, but if it doesn't happen, I hope it will help you reflect on where to go from there.
